The Whole Story - Sapphire & Steel - Stories 1 & 2

It is mid month today also, and unfortunately I am missing a couple of parts of the next Famous Five story, so whilst I'm waiting for Dan to help me out with those, I thought I may as well make a start on the next, as requested it is Sapphire and Steel...

Sapphire and Steel was a strange concept, created by, and the first story written by P.J. Hammond.  It sees time as an enemy, an entity of sorts, that finds it's way into the present (whenever that may be) and causes havock.  When this occurs agents are sent to deal with it, these agents (named after elements, and supposedly constituted at least partly from them),come to try and make right the problem and restore time back to it's appropriate places.  Two of them, Sapphire (Played by Joanna Lumley), who has powers over time and can make it go backwards a short spell to undo certain things, amongst other stuff.  When Sapphire is using her powers here eyes turn a beautiful sapphire blue colour, and Steel (Played by David McCallum), more of the brains of the outfit, although he can join with Sapphire to increase the power of some spells.  There are other elements but only Silver, Gold and Lead are seen in the programme or the strip.  It was adapted into a strip in 1979 and carried on until 1981, with a short break when Oliver Twist took over for a few weeks, now see the whole thing starting today...
