Dick Turpin Story 4 and file...

Here is the last Dick Turpin story, a bit of an anomaly in that it was just a one issue story, this to my knowledge had never been done outside of strips that were meant to be weekly stories e.g. The Benny Hill Page, Superflop etc.  The Smurfs started as single stories and went to continual stories later, but this seemed a bit strange to do and disappointing.  Maybe Turpin had proved unpopular and they wanted to get rid of it quick and make way for another strip?  Anyways, here it is along with a usual file of bits and pieces from the Turpin era...

Dick Turpin - Story 4 -  The Smugglers

Story: Angus P. Allan
Art: Martin Asbury.

Geoffrey Bayldon 1924 - 2017...

I have not long read the news of the sad death of Geoffrey Bayldon.  Geoffrey was a fine actor and appeared in many things but his two most famous creations made it to strip form in Look-in.  He played the hapless wizard in the series of the same name - Catweazle and also the more gentle Crowman in Worzel Gummidge.  He gave hours of pleasure to TV fans and more pleasure that his characters were carrying on the mayhem within Look-in's pages, condolences to his family, RIP...

Found this great interview with Mike Noble, artist of Follyfoot, Black Beauty, Tomorrow People and Space: 1999 to name but a few, it's on YouTube click the link below...

1971 No.42 in full and 1984 No.26...

Here are this weeks two, from 1971 it's No.42 in full and from 1984 I'm afraid it's the last 80s issue I have, I have another recent 70s acquisition (There is also another in the post as I speak) then I will move to rebooting the 80s issues as full ones, don't worry 80s fans, it's my intention to try and publish every issue, I am just more into completing the 70s section at the moment, if there is anyone out there with more 80s issues they can scan that would be really great, I am looking forward to completing Robin of Sherwood in particular, here we go then...
